Noer Fauzi Rachman was one of the founding members of Konsorsium Pembaruan Agraria (KPA), and was the Chair Person in 1995-98 and 1998-2002. He writes and edits books, chapters, and journal articles in Bahasa Indonesian and English on agrarian politics and change, rural development, land tenure, forest policy and management, indigenous peoples, and social movements. After finishing his Doctorate in Environmental Science, Policy and Management at University of California, Berkeley, USA, in 2011, he led Sajogyo Institute for Agrarian Studies and Documentation, and taught on Agrarian Politics and Rural Social Movements for the Master Program in Rural Sociology at Bogor Agricultural Institute (2012-15). In 2015-18, he worked as Special Staff for the Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. He led the 2017 Tenure Conference which laid the groundwork for the Realizing People’s Rights through Forest and Land Tenure Reform program in Indonesia.
