The second edition of the Global Land Forum Youth (GLFY) 2025 in Colombia is a two-day pre-forum event focused on youth-led discussions and networking. It’s a pivotal moment for ILC youth and our extended network to address the challenges and opportunities faced by young people in accessing and managing land. With 56% of the world’s population being young people, and 90% of them living in developing countries, their role in sustainable development is crucial. The GLFY 2025 aims to amplify their voices and empower them to become effective agents of change.
In Colombia, the situation is further complicated by armed conflict, which affects rural youth’s ability to participate in land governance and increases their risk of recruitment by armed groups or migration to urban areas.
