Join us on our in-depth field visits and explore the work of ILC members in Indonesia! Our trips will take place prior to the conference and will last 1-2 days to provide ILC members with an opportunity to learn first hand about land and food security issues in our host country.

SEPTEMBER 23: REGIONAL ASSEMBLIES
Regional assemblies and the global CSO caucus meetings will be held prior to the Global Land Forum to report back on activities and plan ahead. Regional Assemblies will also prepare for the Declaration to be drafted and adopted by the Assembly of Members.

SEPTEMBER 24: INDONESIA & ASIA DAY
The week-long event opens with a dedicated day for the host country aimed at addressing specific challenges and opportunities for the country and region under the theme “Moving beyond words: Agrarian Reform for Equality and Social Justice”. The session is attended by a broad public audience and linked to national and regional political processes related to people-centred land governance.
SEPTEMBER 25-26: NETWORK FORUM
These sessions will allow participants to delve deeper into the theme of the event and will build on the in-depth field visits, a call for good practises launched in 2017, and the key issues identified by the National Organising Committee. Plenaries and breakout sessions organised by ILC members will engage the audience and encourage lively discussion.
KEYNOTES
Global and regional keynote speakers are invited to provide their perspective on the Forum’s theme, followed by engaging discussion between the speakers and participants from the floor.
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Break-out sessions are focused on learning and building the skills of those attending them and are selected through a call for session proposals. They are self-organised, with organisers responsible for contacting the speakers and arranging the agenda of the session together.
ILC AWARD
The ILC award will once again focus on a member who has contributed in an outstanding manner, to making land governance more people-centred and, as a result, has helped to secure the land rights of women and men living in poverty. The nominees will be selected through a Call for Good Practices launched in July 2017.

SEPTEMBER 27: ASSEMBLY OF MEMBERS
The Assembly of Members (AoM) is the supreme governing body of ILC. It provides an opportunity for members to discuss and agree on important governance issues, such as membership expansion, and to establish overall strategies and policies so that the organisation remains in compliance with the intentions of its members. Part of this is the adoption of a declaration.
DECLARATION
ILC provides a space where some of the most difficult land-related issues can be brought to the table for open and constructive dialogue. ILC is a Coalition where diversity is its strength, because when we reach consensus it is all the more powerful in shaping the global land rights and land governance agenda. SEPTEMBER 27: IDEAS FAIR
The Ideas Fair is where Forum participants meet and “negotiate” the exchange of ideas and innovative practices, as well as tools and approaches with potential for up-scaling. The experiences presented during the Fair can cover a wide range of actions, from advocacy, to research to generate knowledge, and interventions to ensure and protect community land rights. Submit your good practice to secure your booth!
